Just recently I started to hear this squeaking noise coming from the engine bay. The tensioner pulley as well as the belt was replaced recently, so I'm quite distraught as to what is causing this. I took apart the tensioner pulley and everything seemed ok. I also tried to spray some WD40 on the parts that spin but no luck. I also tried tightening/loosening the pulley as well as the tensioner but it stayed the same. Any ideas?

Have you been able to narrow it down to a specific area? PS or alt/AC?

 

Not really. It's kind of hard to tell exactly where the noise is coming from with the engine running.

 

I found out the problem is the A/C Compressor. Now I just need to find a used one and replace it.

I checked car-part.com but I need to know whether my car is "thru 11/96, from 12/96 - 4/97, or 5/97 only". How do I find out which one is right for my car?

Also where would be another good place to buy an AC compressor?
