rough idle and runs rough

This just started happening on Thursday or Friday. My 95 started idling a little rough. I thought it was probably just the IAC that needs to be cleaned. Not as bad after the car warmed up.

Now it's missing a bit (especially under 2K RPM).

No CEL. I haven't checked for ghost codes yet.

What could it be?

Are you getting misfire?
I posted something similar.
1st thing like that is to check your plugs and what not. I did and had OIL FILLED in them. THe grommet fell in and I started to have misfires and weird idling.

i ran some techron fuel injector cleaner through it 2 months ago. there were no problems i did it for good measure. I changed the fuel filter about a year ago. spark plugs are probably getting close to 30k miles on them.

from what i researched it looks like it could be maf, coil packs, or tps.

is the CRC maf cleaner easy to come by?

i cleaned the maf and it didn't seem any better. so i did the coil pack test. when tested 1 and 2 on the front of the car the idle changed when i unplugged them. number 3 didn't change anything. i pulled the spark plug on that one and the plug was shot. the electrode was loose and the metal on the other end fell out of the porcelain.

i might flamed for being a newbie but i got the same problem. 1999 max se. runs fine on cold start up, when it starts to warm up it idles kinda rough. and when im driving at speed and the rpms are in between 1300 and 2000 it shakes real bad.
misfire. been told that it could be both the coils or the plugs. i dont know. so maybe its just my plugs to

Start by changing the plugs. If that doesn't help then check the coils one at a time and change as needed.

im preety sure thats what it is too. i did the coil check thing today, where you unplug each coil one by one and see if the idle changes. i got the front 3 and the back 1 on the passenger side, (they all changed the idle BTW) but i cant get the other 2 in the middle and on the drivers side. no leverage. any suggestions?

Needle nose pliers to depress the lock on the plug worked for me.

Mine is weird, I removed the coil from the rear closest to the fender and that was my bad cylinder, changed the coil and still no change in the way it idles. Changed plugs as well and still nothing has changed. When I'm at idle, it seems like it is running bad (the miss is very pronounced when at a stop light), however after I get the RPM's up, it seems to smooth out. Around town driving, she bogs down, however at highway speeds everything seems fine. When I get enough posts, I'm going to start a thread on some little gremlins I have with my Max.

i just had my engine washed at a detailer. after that i'm experiencing rough idling. i checked the front valve cover to check if it got wet but its not. plugs are a few months old. haven't checked the rear plugs.

looking back, i remember my old plugs were all rusted. it seems like the vq doesn't want an engine wash.

could it be that my plugs are fouled again? can i just clean them?

i had same issue just this week. one of my cylinders wasnt firing and had to replace fuel injector. fortunately it wasn't filling with gas. but yeah, higher rpms it would smooth out, but around below 2 or 3 it would have this chugging sound. and starter went up 2 days later. sucked for me.

I learned this during my research of my SES lights. If its steady on, then you have an emission problem. If it starts flashing that signifies misfire.

I also have a rough idle, that kinda comes and goes. I had one coil replaced for being bad a while ago, read that it is recommended to do them in pairs. Can someone post a link to testing them? THX.

I have a 1995 maxima that starts rough sometimes. Will misfire. Never has stalled at an idle. However at an idle after i take my foot of the gas sounds like a thud from the engine. Any suggestions?

yes, take the time to read more. I have very little posts here because every time I have a problem I do a good search and I get the answer from an existing thread.
