Murano windshield spray nozzles on a 4th Gen

Hey Guys,

After getting no definative answer from fellow org'ers and being totally fed up with having no way to clean my winshield, I decided to order a set of Murano windshield spray nozzles for my '97 SE.

So do they fit? Yes and no. They do fit, but not without modification. The opening on the Murano is wide so in order to make it fit I had to make the hole in the hood wider using a file.

Took less than 5 minutes and they work much better than the useless stock ones.

So, to those who were wondering... now you know!

Cheers.

Kevin

I did something very similar when I rented a Chrysler Pacifica 2 yrs ago. Pulled the 'ol switcharoo. Worked like a charm on my old 95 max.

Not to mention the obvious...but if you filed away at the nozzle openings...that means you filed away paint and left bare metal, which will be exposed to the weather and may rust...just want to ensure you know...if possible...pull the new nozzles...tape off and put a coat of primer and some thing to help mitigate any issues.

or..............you could have followed the writeup and filed the nozzles instead of the car.

or..........you can use the QX nozzles that have 3 streams. its not a fan like the Murano but def gets the job done. no modifications needed.

I would have filed the nozzles instead of the hood. seems less permanent that way.
less possibility of damage also. Good idea though.

performance wise, there is no diff between the fan anf the 3 streams. personal preferrence I guess. You can get them at the dealer or a junkyard. If you want the fan ones....http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2508996/3

Trust me I did plenty of searching on the org for solutons to this but, didn't find anything uselful. If I had found out about the QX ones fitting I probably would have gone that route... but it never showed uo in the searches.

Besides, what kind of forum would it be without idiots like me to laugh at??

The Murano ones were $10 each

Does anyone know what kind of inline filter we can get if we wanted one? Cause If I am gonna put new sprayers on, I mine as well protect the life of them by slapping in a filter so they don't clog. My current stock ones are clogged one side and are really annoying. I have tried clearing them but they got clogged again.

Trial and error is the only way to learn. I only knew about the QX because I saw one sitting in my friends shop and decided to try them.

Why would washer nozzles need filters? Use them often so nothing dries up and you wont have to worry about deposite formation.

I have some on my car and they fit just fine, just need to shave the base of them down slightly so they fit into the hood hole snuggly
