Difference between 97 and 99 Climate control

I was trying to pick up a woodgrain CC. One guy I fund said that the one he had was for a 98-99. Do you think that he was mistaken and ment 97-99.
Is there a diffenrence between the 95-96 CC and the 97-99

95-97 are the same, and 98-99 are the same (minus the ambient temp button on the 99s)

IIRC, they are different and are not plug and play.
