Clear Coat Peeling

Hi, All.

Recently, I had a bubble form in my paint on my rear passenger quarter panel. Well, the bubble has continued to get larger over the past few weeks. It finally popped the other day. That was really hard to see. Anyway, the clear coat is flaking off now, and there is the exposed paint underneath.

Here are a few things:

1. I don't want to thrown the money at it (At its age) to repaint the whole thing

2. It is constantly out in the elements. Never covered (unfortunately)

3. Is there something that I can do to kind of "patch" it, without it looking too bad?

Thanks for any help.

Well, I know it is the clear coat, because now that it has popped, the clear coat is flaking a little. You can feel the raw paint underneath...it is rough now....not smooth like the rest of the car.

Now, it might be a rust spot too, but I just wanted the symptoms to be clear.

Thanks for the info.
