Another Newbie with Max troubles

Hey, since im new to this site i really hate to post asking for help. But you guys have so much experience with Nissan I have to. Ok, so my car has had a rough idle/running problem since i bought it. I had a friend with a OBD scanner pull the codes from my check engine light. And these codes came up.

P1320 - Ignition signal Primary
P0325 - Knock Sensor
P0300 - Multiple cylinder misfire
P1320
P0300

So what do you guys think? I know that one or more coils are probably bad. And i am buying a used set from fanaticrockford. But what about the knock sensor? would a misfire throw a KS code? and why do the igntion and misfire codes show up twice? ............any help is great

99's are notorious for having their coilpacks go bad. Replace first, reset codes, recheck codes. Knock sensor is a piggyback code a lot of times and gets triggered unnecessarily. If the KS code still comes back, then replace it.

wow thats alot of codes. like the other gusy said, a couple of those are probably related the same problem. replace the coilpacks then see where you are at. If your KS is messed up, the car is still driveable, you just dont have as much timing advance. You shold def replace it if its bad, but your coilpacks are your first priority.

Werd! Coilpacks should be like a recall on the Maximas...what you described is prolly the coilpacks...they are about 80 bucks for each at autozone, ive only had to replace one . hope you get it figured out.

Im in the process of buy 6 coil packs from fanaticrockford. i know the rear cylinder on the passenger side is bad, i unhooked it and it did not change the idle at all.
So what you guys are saying is that the KS code is probably being triggered by the misfire? its the KS code that im most worried about. it looks like itll be a SOB to replace

spares. I bought them for my 00vi swap a year ago and never needed them. I'd refund you the money if they didn't work.

The 97 was the last year of the coil packs by a company called Hanshin. Mitsubishi packs came next and you'll see the diamond star logo on them.

I undertand the Mitsu units were not long lasting. I've still got my original Hanshins at well over 150K. I dunno if Hanshins are still available (aside from pulling a junked set from a 97 and I don't even know if they'll fit later years.)

A quick google search indicates the Hanshin units are not still made.

Has anyone ever disassembled a Mitsu pack to see what made it fail?
