Best Way To Remove Smells?

Ok so i took apart the interior of my car to try to resolve this smell problem...

the previous owner of my car didnt take care of the car....musta left windows open during rain...also had a dog in the car..

so i took the carpet out completely and powerwashed it to remove smell..

the interior is now stripped to the metal besides the dash...but i still seem to have a smell inside the car....what are some ways/methods to get rid of smell...i honeslty do not know what smell is from...i thinking maybe headliner? what can i do to help get rid of the smell?

thanks for the help

try spraying fabreeze on the headliner to kill the smell. Also, check your a/c evaporator, if it is clogged and still water just accumulates there, it will stink like bats out of hell.

Wipe down the metal floors with soap and water if possible, let dry then reinstal carpeting and trim.

buy about 5 trees. open them all up and leave them in the car sealed for about 2 weeks. you will be amazed. take the bus for 2 weeks while you do that. also lysol in the vent. if you arein a rush, use ammonia on the interior. will stink to high hell while cleaning, but once it evaporates, it'll take the smell with it.

just use the car a lot and your smell will slowly over power it. and Fart a ton.

You need an emzyme based cleaner which will eat the odor causing bacteria. You can also get an ozone generator air cleaner and run that in the vehicle overnight. The ozone will eat the bacteria and neutralize the smell. Run the A/C for a while on recirculate while the ozone generator is on so it gets into the evaporator and cleans that up as well.

Good luck!

EDIT: If you go the ozone route, make sure your seat cusions are in the vehicle while you do this so it gets the odor out of them as well. If you don't do that, the odor will return when you put the car back together.
