EGR problem again!!!! NEED HELP!

I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars getting an EGR problem fixed about 2 years ago. I had the EGR tubes cleaned out with a blowtorch to get all the carbon out, I had the EGR temp sensor replaced, and it seems like my mechanic fixed or replaced something else to do with the EGR system...

I was in a hurry to get to work the other day so I was driving very quickly, passing people at WOT, etc. All of a sudden, the CEL comes on. After I got out of work, I did the self diagnosis and got 3 long and 2 short, which translates to EGR problem!!! WTF! I fixed that!! So I tried resetting the computer and when I turned the car back on, the CEL started blinking! I freaked out, turned the car off, reset the CEL again, and when I turned the car back on there was no CEL at all. A second later, however, it came back.

I don't know if this is coincidental or not, but it also seemed as if the car started shifting harder around the same time. Also, while I was at a stoplight, I let off the brake, let the car roll for a second, then hit the brake quickly again to stop it. As I hit the brake again, I felt a definite "jolt" in the weight of the car - as if something heavy was being pushed forward with the stopping power of the car. This seems unrelated to the CEL, but it seems almost like it could be bad motor mounts (???). I've replaced those too!!!! WTF!!!!!
Could those just crap out from 10 minutes of wild driving???

I'm totally lost, and very frustrated. I've put so much money into this car to keep it mint and the stuff I do is not holding up. Please help! Thanks

There are several other parts of the EGR system. You must follow the diagnostic procedure in the service manual which gives detailed instructions on how to check them for proper operation.

Yes, any one of the components you had serviced/replaced could have caused the fault, but there are others you did not mention that could as well. These include, but are not limited to:

BPT valve & associated hoses/tubing
EGR solenoid valve, hoses in/out from this component, and harness wiring
The EGR valve itself & any gaskets used to mount it

OK Thanks.

Any ideas about the hard shifting and bump of car when it comes to a quick stop?

Not really much to go on, but I would suggest a tune up and an idle air control valve/throttle body cleaning. You're right, probably not related to the EGR problem.

I've done both of those things recently. How many motor mounts are on our cars? I've had the front/rear ones replaced recently. Are there left-right ones? How would you know if your motor mounts have gone bad? Like what symptoms does the car show?
