WE can chirp in 2nd, with a 5 speed. I can see MAYBE chirping in 3rd in a 6speed spec, but that is maybe... 4th? hell no...

Also vq30 5th gens have quickness on par with 4th gens...Unless we are talking 5.5 gens...

 

good point, then again, I don't really count the early 5 gens to be truly 5 gens in my opinon when I mention a Gen 5, just because it is basically the engine as a gen 4s VQ30+Mevi.

and damn mid 13s? hmm, ok, NVM RX8s, WRXs and S2000, Time to take out 350z's and GTOs, and keep up with any maybe beat (depending on Driver and launch), Evos, STIs and 99-04 Cobras.... :-) but those are low 13s sec cars so it could be tough.

Why? They are because they had a redesigned exterior and was given more power...Oh and its not a VQ30 + MEVI...Its a completely different and much better UIM...MEVIs were on 4th gen Maximas/Cefiros outside of the US...

Well If you think about it, conservatively 200 WHP on a 3.5 swapped Sentra with a 2700 pound frame...Maximas with a 3000 lb frame are hitting 13s with roughly that...Now if you say add a spacer kit, 3" maf, SSIM, EU, 3" headers to muffler...You could be looking at roughly 240+ WHP with a decent tune...with good tires and good driver 12s wouldn't be to hard.

Most 3.5 swaps are going to still need a few bolt ons to run with EVOs, STIs, GTOs...Also There is only a handful of Maximas that would be able to stay with a stock to lightly modded 03/04 Cobra...350s and G35s along with most swapped Hondas, DSMs, Camaros ect, would be pretty easy for a modded 3.5 swap in a sentra...

Dude you're a flaming idiot. Get your facts straight. You've been listing off all these cars and performance figures and it's all wrong. For example, you mentioned an S2000 above. S2000's can be high 13 second cars if you really abuse them at the track. Driven conservatively, my friend pulled a 14.1 at a crappy track with his, just for example.

Secondly, LS1 GTOs do not have 400 HP. They have 350. They're also total pigs. LS2 GTOs, however, have 400 HP and are quite quick. I also don't see how Z's have "almost half the HP". Especially when you're talking about an LS1 GTO. 287 (at the lowest) does not = half of 350 or 400, either way you look at it. Plus the Z is much lighter. Stop being such an ill-informed fanboy.

 

umm no, I am right... The LS2 is the one with 400HP, I think I kno that... Why do you think I mentioned the engine? also, I also kno that S2000s do low 14s all day... That is also what I said... And a low 13 is still pretty crappy for perfromence for 400HP in the V8 LS2 engine, why do you think they stopped making them because they were great sellers and had great performence? A 400HP car should put mid 12's AT LEAST stock. I would hate to have a LS2 GTO and get beaten by STIs and EVOs all day when they also have less then 300HP. With a mod or 2 and a good driver, the 4th gen is a low 14 second car.

When I compare 3 cars that do low 14s, And throw and S2000 in it, obv that is in the same group... That is like my saying... well at least you can beat or keep up with Ford GTs, Lambos(LP640s) and SRT10 Vipers if u had an 11 sec car. Wen we kno those are mid 11 cars. I don't have to STATE that they are mid 11's but when a car gets mid 11's and I compare it to them, your supposed to put 2 and 2 together... but I guess you can't do that.

Just to add my fuel to the fire, I drove my friends 04 Spec V, loved the 6 spd. But it felt like i was driving a bus! Now I've taken a 5th gen 6spd not sure of the motor or the drivers capabilities. However back in its prime state i just dont see my SE getting beat by a sentra.

The S2000 is a high 13 second car, the WRX a low 14 second car, and the RX-8 a mid 14 second car. Sorry, automatic comparison not found.

and a WRX is not a mid 14sec car. MID is 14.5-14.06. I have seen WRXs do 14.2s and 14.3s stock.
