Pulled airbox - Still can't find EGR

What am I looking for exactly? Is it mounted on the engine itself or the firewall? I don't see any metal tubes at all, other than the stuff that looks like it goes to the brakes. It's a '99 Maxima btw. Thanks!

Follow the dark colored pipe off the rear header. That goes to your EGR.

He has a '99 so it's gonna look different compared to the 95-98's.

What's circled is the EGR valve itself. It's all black.

the egr is located in hell. worst area to work on EVER. When my egr was throwing a code (or whatever the hell it was) I couldnt find it at first either. What you have to do is look in that area, and look in the most hidden hard to get to spot there is, thats where your EGR is.

okay i dont want to discourage you, its possible to get to its just a pain in the ***. should be able to find it looking at the pictures provided already^^^.

here is a stupid question. why are you looking for the EGR? Is it the regular code that has nothing to do with the EGR?

hate to revive an old thread...but how do we remove the "studs"?

i cut the tip off of the stud that's right by the tube, just the unthreaded part gives enough room to get the nut off . it doesn't hurt anything. a hacksaw blade in a mini handle gets it done quickly.
