Need new tach - which one fits?

My tach stopped working and I took it to the dealer and I need a new one. Does anyone know which year fits my 96 SE. Are they all the same, or did they change something?

Thanks

I don't think you can get just the tachometer unless you find one out of a junkyard and transplant it into your cluster. You might have to get a whole cluster for a 95 or 96 only because they started making digital odometers in 97.

Yeah, I was planning on just buying the tach module (not the whole cluster) and getting Nissan to install it. You're right about the digital odometer, but is there any change in the tach over the years?

Thanks again

PS - I'm already missing DBM

I dont think the tach can be removed seperately, they are all part of one electronic unit. Yes, I know you have the mechanical looking odometer, but its still electronic.

Take apart your instrument cluster first and take a look around...

OK, I just confirmed with a dealership and I just have to get the tach unit, not the whole cluster (don't ask me how - I'm not the one going to be installing it ). They want $600 CND for a brand new one, but I'll get one from the scrap yard. FYI only the 95 and 96 will fit, the others are different.

Thanks for your help guys.
