I'm not a body guy...but my educated guess is that it won't be cheap.

the front damage isn't too bad, but back behind the rear door...ouch that won't be cheap. you can't just replace that like you can with a front fender...someone is gonna have to do some major work to straighten that out.

and whats with the gold grill ?!

hard to tell if its pearl or not. my guess is $4k at least. i have to get the same spot behind the door, just a rear door, pull the fender, rocker, front bumper, and i'm looking at 4k to start (i have pearl.. :/)

Doors will be about $800 each painted, fender probably $400, bumper probably $400, and the rear quarter probably $1500. = $3900.

It looks like they will have to weld and shape a new piece for the rear quarter.

$3-4k min. cut and patch rear quarter. fender can be saved. same with bumper. rear door will need new skin (or a lot of labor). Then you have to blend the pearl paint.

a while back I also got a junkyard door, with interior panel, bose speaker and amp, and glass and regulator. 200 bucks. Make sure you search around alot for parts.

Be nice to have matching headlights too. One is nice and clear, the other is kind of dull.

What's really going to cost you is the rear quarter panel I'd start by getting a few estimates, and then go from there. Labor rates will vary from shop to shop. For example I had my entire front end rebuilt in '06 including frame repair and painting for $2800. Some places didn't even want to touch it

I actually kind of like the grille

You can try to do it yourself. rent a welder and buy a QP clip. pull and fill the rest yourself.

naw it was the same accident from the meet. and i think it was his step mom or something who did it on a garbage truck in nyc.

jose in all brutal honesty, knowing the mileage and whats wrong with the car, i would not fix those panels. youd be spending more than the car is worth....

i would either just live with it

or

just sell it for 2k and try to get another 4th gen for like 3k-4k with 100+ miles.
there are litterally hundreds of these cars up for sale at any given time. i spent probably 6 weeks collectively looking for used 4th gens in southern FL and i found a ****load.

The rear quarter panel will cost you. The rest you can diy if you have basic knowledge on simple body work.

I guess you'll be looking out for steel bodied vehicles parked along side the street next time you're driving once you empty out your pockets to repair your max.

Another suggestion is maybe you can call up your insurance company if it costs too much and see to it that they pay for half or something.

are you sure? beacuse ive been searching for a car for allitle over a year in craigslsit, newspapers, autotrader, you name it and ive looked. and ive run across few maximas and the ones ive seen have less than half of the options mine has and the ones that had "some" of the options they were insanly over priced like $7,995. yea those are dollars. ill post the link when i get home.

also there are no other problems exept the knock sensor that i know about. other than that and the crash, the car is pretty good.(i fixed all the other codes, they werent broken just loose and dirty, so i cleaned them and codes went away, exept ks ofcoarse)

i was thinkin about cutting and welding my self and gettin my neibor to fo the bondo. and if i could keep it and do a 5 speed swap. i definatly would.
i guess you could say that the car has some sentimental value for me and i would like to keep it.

thanks, and i was thinkin if i were to trade this bish in for an evo (witch is my dream car)or sumthin do you think it would be cheaper to pay that car note , or TRY to make my max as fast as an evo. witch would be better now and witch would be better in the long run?

i was thinkin the only advantage of staying with this car is

1. its paid off. meaning its mine and no one can take it from me.

2. theres LOTS of room for modification.

and the disadvantage of staying with this car would be that

1.its so old (11 years!!) i cant get full coverage anymore!!

2.and it has 157,xxx miles on it.

any opinions thnks
