I have 17" and its way enough (235-45-R17) is the best option for a 4th gen Maxima. 18" are too heavy and its just for look. anyway, the bigger youre wheels are, the more your suspension is affected on not perfect plane surface

I was thinking 17, it's way better than my 15s and it's better for performance. any idea what offset would get my wheels flush? +38 or so?

if you can, 17x9's in a +30et to +35et would be good all around. nice and flush too. 245/40 would be a good tire size.

goto the Wheel&Tire Section of the forums. you will find more information there about wheel sizing and offsets. (hint: the sticky section up top)

17s ususally have 215-50-17s or 235-45-17s on them

the 235 or 245-40 are more for 18s

17" wheels with a 245-40 offset your speedo by over 3%

Dude go with 18's. I had 15, 2 sets of 17, and now 18's. I could not be happier with with 18;s

uh.... that all mainly depends on wheel WIDTH, not diameter.

and 3%?? try the tire calculator and think again. 1.8% too fast.

anyway, 235-45-R17 is the best tire size for a 4thgen Max. Its not even a question, if you want performance, go for this. I have G35 17" wheels, it looks great, 235-45 tires are just perfect and the wheels aren't too heavy!

my 18s were 225 / 40, and they were almost exactly the same height as the stock 215 60 on 16s, my opinion would be 18s.

then put in 245-40-17 and calculate........ = 3.07%
