Fog lamp help!!!

Hi there everyone,

I have a 97 max and recently bought a headlight stalk with fog switch, fog lamp (both sides), and a relay for the fog,

I install the headlight stalk and all lights are working but the fog, and yes i did turn on the head lights first, and i also install the relay, and also install a fog light fuse, connected all wires, and fog will not turn on.

I do not have the SE, but does comes with pre-wires for fogs(GXE)

another thing, I can hear click sounds from the reply and i turn on and off the fog switch..

any advice would help thank you

again thank you all in advanced

Sounds like you may be missing Fuse #63 (15 Amp). This fuse is only used for fog lamps so maybe it was not installed? Did you install this fuse? In the correct socket? Are you getting 12VDC to the fog lamps?

Otherwise check if you are getting 12VDC to the Orange with Black stripe wire of the fog lamps.

Check for orange/blk wire at fog relay lamp relay make sure it is there. check for 12VDC at solid orange wire at relay. It would make more sense if I could post the wiring diagram but not sure how to post image. I'll try and figure out tomorrow.

Orange wire provides 12VDC from the fuse (#63) to the contacts of the fog lamp relay, when relay is closed (turned on) it provides 12VDC to Orange/blk wire at relay contact over to the fog lamps.

Other terminal at fog lamp (soild black wire) must be grounded to complete lamp circuit.

Bat + -- Fuse 63 -----------------------_____-------------------------------------- Lamp ------------ Grnd.

12VDC ************ Orange **** Relay contact **** Orange/Blk ******************Black wire

Maybe that helps, looks like 12VDC is not getting to your lamp. Sounds like your Fog lamp relay is closing so that part of circuit is OK. Are you sure the relay is the correct type? Make sure fuse was inserted into #63 slot.

i have tested today again, and somehow it is working now,

i think it might be the bad ground, because i do get 12v at the wires where you plug in your fogs.

thank you again for your help Nopike

If the 12VDC is at the fog lamp and they don't work than I would suspect a bad ground or a bad connection at the lamp. If 12VDC is missing at the lamp then you have to work your way back toward relay and fuse.
