I am going to conjecture and say no, and yes. No because pretty much everything in the 6th gen is bigger/fatter than the 4th(), but Yes because it would be more efficient for Nissan not to have to make different gears/equipment...

Yeah...i figured if they have aftermarket steering wheels, can't I just pull on off of a 06 maxima and put it on my 4th gen...

i will also take a guess...i bet it would fit, but the wiring and air bag would all need to be custom wired.

the coulumb its talking about is the amount of electric charge equal to i think 1000joule...lol..just busting ***** man..sorry

umm..the 6th gen steering wheel is smaller in diameter than both the 4th and 5th...

Is it doable? Probably. It would take some modifications, but I'm betting it would physically fit. If you can get one for cheap, why not? I was actually looking at one to put in my 5.5 because the 6.5 gen steering wheel is much smaller and thicker than mine...

I personally would do a 5.5 wheel cause the wheel itself looks better (airbag and all). I'm not a fan of all of this 'retro' looking crap.

I agree that it looks better, but drive a 5.5 gen then drive a 6.5 gen and you'll like the 6.5 gen steering wheel way better..it has a better feel to it, a more aggressive shape, it's way smaller in diameter, and much thicker to grasp.

^^The Mayflower used a 6th Gen wheel and it fit perfect!! No more splinters.

to let you know, steering wheels are not directly swappable even between 95/96 & 97+ models, so a 6g wheel? good luck & take pics.
