MOVE GXE TRUNK RELEASE FROM FLOOR TO DOOR

I HAVE A 98 GXE WITHOUT THE SECURITY PACKAGE AND I NOW HAVE A DOOR PANEL THAT HAS THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON AND IN THE DOOR THERE IS THE HARNESS WHAT DO I NEED TO DO IF POSSIBLE TO MAKE THE DOOR BUTTON ACTUALLY WORK. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

dang some kind of help these three fools are.

anyway bro, im actually looking in the same problem but not really sure how it works just yet, i have gxe 97 but my siter has a 98 gle with the release on the door. so im going to try and look into to it when i get a chance

I do think its possible, but the OP has a lever, and the one in the door is electric. So you would have to wire it up. IIRC that is...

you'd have to wire up a solenoid to the trunk that releases the trunk, go to the j-yard and find a max with the trunk latch thats electric, the reas should be straight foward best of luck,

if all maxes come prewired for all the powr options then this one should be mo different, get an FSM and look at the electrical schematic
