Review: Warpspeed Y-pipe

Just installed my Y-pipe today, warpspeed Y-pipe, orignal pipe was fairly easy to take off. NEw on bolted on right away (no fitment problems) Would recomend to anyone. Great quality, I would recomend theis pipe to anyone, and with a PR CAI (waving hand over head making swishing noise) VERY VERY fast it pulls hard. Good luck, im going to burn some rice, and rustang's now....

Will this work with CA spec 1996 Maxima?

Hi. I have CA spec autotragic 1996 SE.
Will this ypipe fit. Will it cause me to fail smog check? Anyone know the answers to my questions.
Thanks,
Supertool.

3 Quick Questions...

How much did the Y-pipe cost you and from where? Do you think the CAI really influences its power?
Thanks,
Cyrus

It was 220 (or around that) it was second day aired, not my choice, just the way they do it, I got it from dallas at warpspeedperformance.com Very nice, Apperently I haven't felt the performance yet, though its noticable at this point... DAllas says that it takes about 100-500 miles to get the ECU use to the free flowingness (i dunno).

Yes dino results show that it is really a "good power conbo" but hey a CAi is only like what 200? SO its not that much money for it conpared to other mods.)

Anyway, yes its helps big time, so i would recomend it, and clear out your car, cause your going to need all that space for tickets for speeding

Peace out.

One other thing though, if you are in California, the cops do know what to look for if they pull you over for a equiptment inspection. ie: the precats. So in CA it depends on how LUCKY you feel .

Just put my y-pipe yesterday, and to be honest, my expectations exceeded the reality. It doesn't pull that much harder as I thought it would be, even though it does sound much louder especially w/ GReddy. Do I need to reset my ECU or it will reset itself?

:o)

$220 is awefully cheap. It must have been their new aluminum and/or non-mandral bent pipes, correct? You haven't commented on the sound, how is it?

Does ANYBODY make a CA emmisions Y-Pipe?!

Reset the ecu
http://www.brianv.net/ecu.html

Also, try accelerating while your doing 55MPH+
I've noticed a huge difference in the power above 50-60 MPH.

Yes the $220 one is Aluminizaed, fine for the westcoast, but for a T304 Stainless steel one, it costs just about $299

That was my problem to but after talking to the guys at warpspeed they said that it would fit either one. Basicly the pipe is the sae but the other stuff is different. It should be able to swap between the two. I am sending in my order tooday.

Cattman makes an CA emission legal Y-Pipe for 99 4th gens, the older ones can use a Y-pipe that non Cali 99s use ('99 Federal Emissions YG4 Cat)

I dont know if the Warpspeeds are emission friendly, havent checked

Aluminum, but it is mandral bent. If you disconnect the batter before you work on it the ECU resets, the ECU, good luck eveyone.

Actually I'm not sure if this is true.
Cause the ECU is an EEPROM, so it will retain it's memory even without power.

The reason I think it's not true is cause one time I got a check engine light, it was the O2 sensor. Changed the sensor, disconnected the battery (for about 20min) and reconnected it and the check engine light was still there. Then I did the ECU reset and the light was gone.

Beside's disconnecting the battery makes you lose all your radio station presents

Even with an ECU reset it'll still take the car approx 100-200miles to relearn the proper settings from all the sensors.

well take it to track... and get it timed. I know approximately what my car will run, so if I get some times that are noticably differnt I will know.
