You need to take to door pannel off and inspect the latch.

 

and now it locks if you push the inside button all the way down. it opens a little bit but not all the way.

also the alarm is occasionally not affected when you open the door when locked

 

mine does the same thing, but only when the weather is cold... i guess all that it needs is lubrication but I never got around to inspecting it. i just make it a habit of manually locking the door instead of relying on the key fob.

 

sounds like your rods are off. just because the actuator works doen't mean the latch has moved. take the panel off and check the linkage.

 

Is ur key fob batteries good, cuz if u need to change the battery that will make it act up, i had the same problem at times........

 

My Max does the same thing in cold weather. I've been to lazy to take the panel off and look at things. I just manually lock it when it's cold out, not a big deal to me since it only happens when it's cold out.

 

took the panel off and the rods move but dont fully click into locking place. so i pushed it over a little bit and it worked put everything back together and now it doesnt work again......so back off with the panel we go

 

so it turned out to be the locking rod... i took it out and now it works. only problem is you cant lock the door from the passenger side door anymore but honestly, who has friends nice enough to lock your car when you have a key fob.
