Immobilizer help...

This is a 99 car, last night the car just wiped the key memory so the security light would stay on after key was inserted. Started and ran for a few seconds then shut off, now it just cranks. So, does the car need to be towed to the dealer or do they just need the key and or VIN number?

Unfortunately they have to reprogram the ECM and the keys all at once with a new ID. NATS FTL.

For ****s and giggles, try to disconnect and reconnect E13/F36 and E14/F37 as well as the sub-harness for crank sensor right inbetween the radiator and front valve cover, right above the engine cradle crossmember.

"rick rolling" hasn't been funny for 6 months now.

All fixed. Towed to dealer, programmed key and all is good.

Was this the first time this happened to you? It happened twice for me and the second time they wanted me to get a new ECU for $1300.
