Adhesive for Rear Spoiler

My rear spoiler has come undone on the passenger side. It looks like it was originally glued in. I have tried krazy glue to glue it back together and it has not worked well at all. What is the best adhesive to use for the spoiler?

3M makes some good double sided tapes. I've used'em before.

I am looking for something that will hold the spoiler firmly to the trunk. I agree that 3M makes good tape, but to hold the spoiler tight during all weather situations I would think that some sort of glue or epoxy would be needed.

go ask a body shop what they would use and if you get a bad answer then go to the dealer and ask them what they used. cause a lot to the spoilers were a dealer option.

Spoiler Repair

Try a good body shop adhesive from manufacturer's like 3M, Fusor, or SEM. They all make epoxy type adhesives that dry in minutes that can withstand like 2500 pounds of pressure.

PS
You may want to try what I did when my spoiler rotted out; I drilled small holes through the spolier and trunk and used plastic zip ties to fasten the spoiler to the trunk. You can't even see the zip ties unless you are looking up close (white zip ties/white car). This is purely functional rather than asthetic, but it bets shelling out $200 to replace the entire spoiler!

Piggy Backing off of the spoiler question

Hi Everyone,

My spoiler got ripped off of my car because of some absent-minded pedestrian pushing my car out of the snow a few months back. Does anyone know how much it would cost to repair it, or have any tips as to how I maybe able to fix the spoiler myself? The spoiler was not glued on; rather, the idiot broke the fasteners, I think. Thanks!

First off you should be using spoiler clips if your car originally came with a spoiler. If it didnt originally come with one, use 3M automotive double sided tape. Thats what body shops use, it wont come off. Dont ever use a glue or epoxy.

There you have it ^^^....if the clips are indded broken, you might just have to start searching for new clips. Try the stearlership if you get tired of looking around. Or im not sure if a cheap easy fix could just be to use double sided tape to hold it down somehow.

Thanks, I'll check out the dealership. Don't be surprised if I'm back on in a few days inquiring about how to put it together myself.

bolts > tape

OEM spoiler uses clips on the outside and bolts in the middle.
