Bad axles... and clicking... Worst that can happen?

Ok, as u sum kno, my boots torn about 3-4 months ago, well turns out the axles are bad now because of that. (was gonna replace anyway from boots being torn because they get so beat up without lube and all that dirt) Anyway... they are clicking when I turn sharp. Now I am worried, this is my only car too work and I cannot afford to do these axles right now ($80 a pop at Advanced, lifetime, no core w/o LSD)... (maybe a month?) and I am gonna do them myself in the driveway if I find time.

There are 3 things I am worried about... and I am not sure if but if I remember, but when things happened we just replace them in school, and never rode them out to see what damage can happen.

1.From clicking can I screw up my wheel hub bearing? The last thing I need is the make that go from the bad axles.

2.Aligement can screw up right? I just spend $150 bucks doing a full alignment last winter and they couldn't even fix the rear toe(they needed shims) and I paid for the rear to be checked even though they didn't fix it. (thanks town fair)

3. Can a transmission have an issue or be affected? if I keep going with this? aka, breaking seals or causing bearings to work harder from bad axles...

4. And lastly... any likely chance they can break? I mean, I have seen a my grandparents Dodge old caravan break its axles(@30k miles on it, haha dodge sucks huh?) and obv thanks to open-diff technology... the lazy side will always move. So I would be stranded... =[

Give or take, I need an estimate on how long I can do, like I said, they only click during decent to sharp turns.

o and one more thing, Say I don't have the time to do it, Will an auto shop rape me to get these replaced?

to me, the worse that can happen is car goes straight, wheels take the exit ramp.

how long have they been clicking?

I drove on mine while clicking for almost a year. Don't beat them up and they will last a while yet.

is this even possible. i would think the axle would have to snap the tie rod off for this to happen.

Pmohr ... what is wrong with that one? Seems fine, just slap it back in ... i'm sure it's good. LOL

Worst that could happen, you destroy other parts too, like a hub / wheel bearings, you brake one and get thrown into a ditch cause the car pulls real hard ... I don't honestly know, never let mine get to that point.

It's like the kid at the store tho .... the mom tells the kid to stop and she starts counting to 3, what the he!! happens when she gets to 3 ..... does anyone ever really get to find out? LOL Thoughts for the day.
