EVAP question no. 1526641 and 1
EVAP question no. 1526641 and 1
I can not pass inspection I have read all the entries and tried everything my last resort is to go to a dealer. Before I go I do have to say mine is unique I know maxima was in accident and the canister cracked so everything was replaced with used items but the code only gives general 0111 I dont know what to do???
I would check here I am getting the same code and I finally figured it out. My EVAP canister in the back is releasing charcoal into the system and it is stopping the hoses up.
If you look at this pic. The longer hose connecting the valve and purge valve together will fill up with charcoal and also the valves will too. To check this grab some pliers or just take your hand and squeeze the hose and see if it crunches. If you hear a noise your line is full of charcoal and you will need a new EVAP canister. I actually cleaned mine out and got rid of the code for like 2 weeks. You could probably pass inspection if this is your problem and you fully clean out all 3 items.

So you saying clean out all the 3 tubes in the picture. I do have charcoal because I just changed spark plugs and PCV valve needed to remove that long tube all this charcoal fell out so I will go back and make sure all charcoal is out. I read also which is the valve that is stuck open that is letting all the charcoal go up. Is that valve the one on the canister itself behind left rear tire.
If there is charcoal in that hose or the valve solenoid you will need to clean it out because that is causing your code. Take off those 3 things and pulled that long hose off. Mine was stuck on there pretty good so you really gotta pull probably. Dump out the charcoal and then blow out the black purge valve. hole finger over 1 whole and bllow it out and just do that for all 3 holes. Then with the solenoid remove the 2 screws in the middle to take the solenoid in half and dump out all the charcoal and then reassembly and put back on car and reset CEL. That should remove the code for a few weeks.
Yes the canister is behind the left rear wheel. It is the large square canister. You cannot miss it. I have read that the charcoal in the canister is suppose to be a big block and as time passes it eventually breaks down and that is why it is inside your EVAP system.

Thanks Mxrider52 this should be in the stickies... Also to not take off the 2 bolts off that silver valve I took off both tubes and got a longer tube I had and blow out the charcoal. Man I had enough for a mini barbeque. So this is being caused by the canister and that is a very pricey item in the dealership. I have to run to inspection. Thanks again. The org always has someone with the answers.
Did you recheck and see if the hose was clogged back up?
In any way does the hose suck itself closed,(the one pictured above that is connected) and starts making a clicking sound? After its warmed up and idling?
I am going to check. I want to ask remember previous post I said the canister was in a rear accident and cracked so that charcoal block was already old plus with the impact it must have broken to pieces and up the tubes it went. Now I want to ask do you think I can use a vacuum cleaner and suck out all the charcoal but from which line is it all coming from.

SAME here! Those 2 codes.
Ive a guess. In the fall I put my winter tires ( no more spinning wheels). 6 months after, put back my summer tires and go on the track. Each fu(king time that I push my car to the limit, this code appear. If I dont push it, no CODES, and I tried it several times for average period of time.
Some, like above : Hoses are weak, if theres too much vacuum the hose's close on itself.
Any other suggestions?
BTW : Ive clean everything. (egr and evap) everything was SO CLEAN, it was shinning inside !!
