steering wheel shake

ive been getting increasing vibrationson the steering wheel over the last couple of months. i thought it might have been the front tires but i just rotated them and it may actually be a little worse than before. it happens when im braking at highway speeds, anything over 60 and as soon as i touch the brake wheel shakes, harder i press more violently it shakes. and now when im doing 60+ the wheel vibrates, not exessivly but consirerably...goes away after 75-80 mph+

idk if it could be alignment related, i have not aligned the car in over 6 months.

i got the wheel bearings (both) replaced some 7 or 8 months ago)
im pretty sure my cvs are a bit bad since anytime im making a U turn or a sharp turn, slowly with the wheel almost fullly turned i hear a click click click but i havent paid attention to them yet...

Check your rotors they are most likey warped, does the car pull in anyway when you break? if it was tire balance the shake would start to dissapear after 45mph

Yeah then its your rotors, replace them along with the pads.

could jojo98maxima be right and its the alignment?

Cause you haft to understand that the your pads sit just cm from your rotors and when they are warped the pads will follow the rotor thus for shaking your wheel, I’m work at working right now and i had my boss take a look at this post and he thought the same thing I did and he’s been working on cars for over 30 years. You can do what the other kids are thinking, but personally i think that what it is, it would suck to spend 150 bucks to get your tires balance and an alignment, and have it be the wrong thing.

If your tires are balanced and u got an alignement, then its probably your rotors are warped, or a bad wheel bearing but u mentioned u replaced those. Cheap or crappy tires can also cause that.

tires are ok.
idk about alignment though, the front tires were worn out evenly. to my understanding when the car is misaligned u get uneven wear, right?

Have your tires balanced and replace the front brake rotors.

The balance will fix the constant vibration
New brakes will fix the shake when you step on the brakes at highway speeds.

similar problem... but you guys say if your car pulls when you brake then you need new pads + rotors...

I just installed new rotors + pads for the front and rear. My car's steering wheel shakes at highway speeds, and pulls when braking. The pulling is very noicable, specially if the road is uneven. In this case is it safe to say that I need an alignment?

it can be just about many things. Normally though, balancing and aligment are most times the fixer.

Could be a number of things...Rotors, pads, tires, rims, axles.
