Without modification?

I know for 00vi swap you need to redrill holes for MAF, but what about if using it without the 00vi? (say...your not ready for 00vi swap but have 5th gen air box and snorkel on hand)

No, not without modifications.

Then again, all I've test-fitted in my car is the A33B stock airbox assembly. Not to sure about the DE-K parts.

It wouldn't fit very well. As it is it isn't very secure, and the throttlebody is in a totally different location on the 4th gen. manifold(s). The piping of the 5th gen would be too long and at the wrong angle.

you can use the 4thgen stock airbox and then either make a custom pipe to the TB from the MAF... OR you can use the DEK's little box that the vacc. lines connect to in between the 4thgen airbox and the DEK TB using the accordian type piece... you know the ribbed one...

I have a A33B intake system in my car (albeit connected to the VQ35DE). So, in a way, yes it does fit, and in another way, no it won't fit. The snorkel will snap onto your core support in the correct way, and the airbox fits too. However, in your case the answer is no until you install the 00VI. Then it will all fit no prob.

The largest concern here is MAF bolt pattern, everything else can be fitted, further information can be found in the link I posted.
