Please help me to see this deal.

Recently I plan to buy a 97 maxima GXE from my friend. 170K, fair condition, auto. how much do you think I can offer him? I think $2000 is a reasonable price for us. I appreciate any suggestions.

A few more details on the car? What do you consider "fair condition"? I just paid $2000 for my 97 GLE with 200k. Still runs like a champ though.

if its in great mechanical condition than 2grand doesn't seem too bad for a car with 170k.

I appreciate you guys' good suggestions.
My friend let me bid, and I offered him $2100. I think he is still looking for higher bidder. I really hope we can make this deal done.
