Fidanza flywheel

Has anyone that has the Fidanze flywheel replaced the insert? I found that you can get inserts rather than resurface the flywheel (which has already been done once). Anyone have more info?

I just replaced my inserts a month ago. 75 bucks for the inserts and you get 2.

yah there pretty cool, Better then paying for someone to resurface your stock flywheel and worrying about them screwing it up...

The friction plates are like $80

I don't have a stock flywheel. It's always been the fidanza in this car. Plus it has been resurfaced once. Prior to that it was auto.

Call Fidanza and order through them. Comes to about $100 with shipping. Un-bolt the old friction plate and put on the new one.

I wondered about this too. Has anyone had any trouble removing and replacing the friction plate before?

I'll be doing the install this weekend. I'll try to report back my experience. From what I gather from others, it doesn't appear to be much of a problem. I did a search last night, and the only problems people have is if they happen to have an older flywheel, and the screw holes didn't line up. However it also seems that Fidanza is very customer driven and will make every effort to resolve the issue.

They are great. Perfect example....

Bought my Flywheel from Fidanza when they first started making flywheels for the Maxima. Maybe 2002. This past year I was doing all my upgrades for my car and ordered the frictions plate for the flywheel along with a new clutch. All down to the day of the install and the friction surface holes DONT LINE UP. So I called Fidanza and faxed them a drawing of the hole pattern on my flywheel. They called me right back and said this was an early production flywheel and they no longer make the friction surface for it...Great, now what. Well he overnighted a BRAND NEW Flywheel out to me with a call sheet from UPS to ship the old one back. What great guys !!

Wow, I'm impressed and rather surprised! I had always heard bad things about fidanza before buying the flywheel...then I had an experience of my own. When I ordered a clutch from them(with the flywheel), they broke 3 deadlines and ended up taking over 3 months when their original date was 4-6 weeks. If it weren't for Brian (I ordered thru Cattman) pushing them, it may have been even longer! I was just hoping I wouldn't have to deal with them in the future
