yea lol i searched around for it and found out about what they call the MEVI. if it's not too hard then i'll definitely look into it. only thing is i've never really done anything at all on a car so it might still take some figuring out for me.

I'd advise to leave the CV joints alone until they start clicking -why spend that money until you have too -just wash that grease off every week -shouldn't hurt anything if you keep on top of it. What you may need to look at are your struts. You can see the strut boots are shot -so they may be the originals -and those can be leaking black goo too, plus if they are bad they are slowly wrecking your tires. I'm procrastinating replacing my CV joints (with bad boots, but no noise) and my struts, which are shot. I'm getting quotes of close to $300 for parts and labor on the rear struts for my 2000 maxima SE. $360 for parts and labor on the CV joints, which I didn't think was bad since I don't want to do it!

Hello, I am just picking up a Max. I work at Johns auto parts in Minnesota. We are a recycler. We got in a 96 Maxima Se 5sp. Its got about 212,000 on it. Reason the put for junking, Broken. Got it started, starts real hard, have to crank it for a bit with the pedal to the floor, but get started and sounds good. no rattles or knocks that I can hear. I can pick it up for $650. I asked the GM if i could trade my 93 Voyager for it and he said I could. WOO HOO. When i get it titled and tabbed and get to run it a bit on the road, i will be back for help on how to get it running/ starting better. If i need a motor. We have 3 with around 100000. If any of you need something let me know, i'll see what I can do. Thanks for the site and hope to talk / meet / get to know some of you.
