Climate Fan Problem

Not sure if it could be just a fuse or if I need to take the dash apart and clean the connectors or something, but...

On Monday Night I got home, and turned the car off, Tuesday Morning I drove off, tried to turn on my cabin fan.. nothing. Fan Speed 1, 2, 3 don't work, fan speed 4 does though.

Now what quirks a question in my mind is that if I have the **** on fan 1, 2, or 3, and push my A/C button to the on position, I can hear the A/C coming on, but no air comes out unless I turn the **** to Fan speed 4, so logic would say that the car is recognizing that I am turning the **** into an ON position but nothing comes out.

Anyone have any ideas? Please say fuses.. LOL Taking the dash apart is not something I'd be looking forward to do.

(I've tried Circulatation and Non circulation. The **** isn't loose I can't move it in or out and I can still clearly feel the **** switching into 1-2-3-4 positions.)

Yet another thanks to nissan for making this an easy fix. Some manufacturers (VW) used to have this part integrated within a large module that contains all the heat/ac controls...........you gotta replace the entire thing. We get off cheap.

I have a similar problem. I'd start a new thread but since I'm new to your group I cant start one. Hope you don't mind my hijacking your thread.

1997 Maxima, fan occasionally won't work on any speed, 1, 2, 3 or 4. When not working with fan switched to any position there is no power getting to the fan. This eliminates fan motor and resistor card as problems. Fan seems to run fine when jumpered and run directly from battery power. There is power at the two 15 amp fuses that feed this system.

Every time I get around to trying to chase down the problem it has fixed its self.....temporarily....

It would seem this leaves the wire run from the fan to the fuse box. Has anyone encountered this before?

Thanks!

Eric.
