Just bought 97 5spd SE. Put my mustang wheels on. . .ha

I was looking for a second car because my Mustang GT is killing me with gas. i have always loved the 4th gen Maximas but i only had 2500 to spend so i wasnt sure if i'd be scoring one. i found one listed on craigslist.com for "parts only." The girl was asking $1000. I called her and she told me when she got it inspected she was told the engine and transmission were going to fall out of the car and it was unsafe to drive. Being a girl that just graduated college she freaked out and decided to sell it for parts. The reason the eninge is going to "fall out" is just the radiator bracket is rotted out. no big deal.
The car has 139,XXX miles, 5spd, white SE. what more could i ask for. I got her down to $800 and drove it home. 1.5 hour ride. no problems. The car does need a lower ball joint and a tie rod.

When i got it home i decided to throw my stock GT rims on to see what it would look like. I have 18x10.5 saleen's on my mustang for the summer. Let me know what you think. . . .

Think i should leave the mustang wheels on??

Here's my mustang

nice deal on the car. i would bought that for 800 too! replacing the rad support can be like $500 unless you havea welder and do it yourself.

Put the SE wheels back on, i think the mustang wheels are ugly. nice stang btw.

I have '98 Cobra wheels on mine. I like em. Those look good to me. I've got a pair of that style I was going to use for DR's I think it looks fine. Maybe people do laugh at my wheels, but I don't mind

Thats a truly killer deal man. Get a side shot with the rims-I don't know how I feel about them from the other angles.

i kinda like the stang wheels on it. but stock would look better.Seems as if the outer break lights were to fall out as well.
Nice steal.

The Saleen rims are just "eh" on the 4th gen max. Maybe trade em for some Cobra R's.

Don't care for how those wheels look and I think you'll find your gas mileage is better with the 16" wheels. Speaking of gas mileage...if gas was killing you why not buy a $500 Civic or something? The Maxima doesn't exactly sip gas.

The only maxima's that can pass mustang rims are 3rd gens...and only certain mustang rims. Jeff92SE had a set on his first gold 3rd gen that actually looked really good. Beside that, they just seem way out of place.

I still say they don't look bad. I like the 4th gen with the chrome cobra wheels JNCo posted also. Here's mine. I say if you like the look go for it. Not once has anyone given me crap about mustang wheels on my car. (Till now I'm sure)

BTW these are 98 cobra wheels, and the same style Jeff92SE had on his car as well.

I'll give you that. I'm simply saying there are much better choices for gas mileage, which seemed to be your priority.

nice stang....even though im a gm guy

people can go jump off a bridge with all their anti ford rim talk. I have seen lots of 3rd/4th/5th gens with various stang wheels that looked great in person. i would rather rock steelies then the 16" se wheels

IIRC Jeff didnt have cobra wheels, he actually had moda wheels, they look very similar to cobra wheels though.

And yes they were a good looking wheel on the car.

Those sn95 wheels dont look too good on the 4th gen.

Please remove those Mustang wheels IMMEDIATELY. They don't look good AT ALL. The SE wheels look way better. Nice looking Mustang though.
Good luck with the Max, seems like a steal if everything works right.
