New LED Tail Lights
#82
I believe he means license plate lights.. they call 'em 'tags' down south!
I already have those, as well as LEDs everywhere else, EXCEPT my tails..
Reece - do you have the LED boards ready for sale? Still waiting for the harnesses?

i have a set ready to go, I can take some pics so you can check them out if u want. The only other thing they need is the harnesses from the stock tail lights so you can plug them into the car easier, but its not necessary if you dont mind soldering them into the car. If you want them, you can provide harnesses and I can wire them up and send it back to be installed.

guys just wanted to post here, I'm doing a project with my galant for new tails. I've created a circuit for sequentially lit turn signals. Here is the link to my video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQEcpAtnWIg
I figured someone might be interested for the max. I know a lot of people wanted the turn signals added to the led tail setup. Thought someone would be interested in being the first to have them on their max. We could work out specs of the design, wether you want them white, amber, or red, under the stock orange lens, tinted, whatever. Just thought someone might be interested.

well first you just be aware that you can't just swap the tail lights. Well you can but it will look bad without changing the trunk and rear bumper. Do some research. There is a writeup on here already I think. Or do some research on leds.
#93
I already know that. I couldnt find a write up on here, or on the sticky, none of the links worked. That little trick that someone posted about "showthread" and "oldthread" would work if you could see the full link. I got a 98 front bumper cover and rear bumper cover, and im waiting on the trunk. Didnt install any of it untill tax time so i can paint and get body work done.

how much are you planning on spending total to make your own set?

Hey man if you dont mind me asking did you use PWM? From what it looks like, you just had an array of LEDs for the "running lights" and then another array that lit up for the brake lights, right? Did you use Voltage regulation?

I didn't use a PWM or anyother voltage regulation. I did two separate arrays just as you said.

yup. i pretty much had no knowledge of electronics before making these and learned everything i did through the internet (mainly searching google) and kzoosho, and BLACKonBLACK98. doing it the way i did was the easiest way (in my opinion) and achieved a look i liked. thanks, and good luck if you end up trying urself... if not, they are for sale
