I was reading some car rag and a guy was talking about his Sentra that he modded but said the VQ30 was a better engine and bullet proof. I already had the pathfinder so I researched the Maxima a little more and figured it was a good deal.

The only Maxima I looked at and test drove had all the options except Bose which I didn't want but had the heated seats and mirrors. Just didn't have the key fob and the rear trunk lock was broken.

One time I took many friends out for the night in it and came back to a dead starter. Guess she got jealous.

Because I'm in love with their body and flat trunk (4th gen) and are the closest Jap car to a European look. The fact they are some of the fastest luxury sedans for the price doesn't hurt either

when i first came to usa and i went to a mall, then out of no where i saw a 5th gen and just fell in love. i always loved nissan anyway and we had a nissan pulsar back home which never gave any trouble for the 3 years we had it and we acctually sold it for more than we baught it for.anyway so i ended up with a POS taurus that was giving me hell so when finally was time to buy a new car i had to get a maxima( i actually have an i30 but its still the same).i love the power but i need something a little more fuel efficient so i might sell it.

I got my maxima because i needed a daily driver so i could garage my S2000. Year after that i sold the S and kept the maxima. Very surprised at its performance and got addicted to its nice powerband.

I'm on my third Max. Once you've driven a 5.5 6spd, you never want to leave. But, I had to sell mine to pay some bills for a while. This 97 5spd is pretty spunky (but, the 3.5 with a 6MT is IMPOSSIBLE to beat, trust me).

I actually kind of fell into my Maxima.... after collage I bought a Mercury Sable for $1000 which was all I had to my name drove it for 8 months and it crapped out on me. I needed a car within a few days so I could get to work so I called my neighbor up and told him I needed a car and that I wanted a nice import sedan. He called back with a choice of either a accord or Maxima I didn't even get to look at it I just gave him $3500 cash and he delivered it the next day. It was love at first site. Now I don't know if I would want a different car I love my Maxima.

I didn't have much of a choice. It was forced on my as my first car. But I've grown to tolerate it now. Being a '97, it doesn't look nearly as old as the other cars made at that time, and it's got decent power as well.

I also got one because I heard they were reliable, I didn't like them at first, but the more I started seeing them the more I started to like them, my boy who worked for stadium Toyota and knows about a whole lot of cars has a Max and told me it was one of the best cars I could buy,(he has 200,000 and some change on his and rode 7,000 miles with the oil light on, and it still runs like new) plus my other boy who has an i30 was sayin the same thing, I orig was gonna get and Acura cl or Subaru Legacy but I got the Max and dang shore happy I did....It being labeled as the 4door sports car isn't bad either, neither is the v6 or the room...can't wait to put more mods into it...I think I'ma be stickin wit Max's for a loooong time...

O...and it's such a sleeper...

1995 motortrend car of the year. It was the best value from what i could afford at that time. one of the only 4dr sedan V6 with a 5spd that wasn't impossible to find in my price range. i had a 240sx and a g20 before and always need more room to haul around my deadbeat friends!!

I wanted a 95+ and it was the most economical out of the big 3 Japanese makers in price when model year is taken into account.

It was a hand-me-down from my brother but I kind of grew up with it since it was still in the family and got a liking for it. But right now as much as I love the max, its still a 10 yr old car with problems, and I really wish I had a newer car.

well back in 2000 i was looking for a car to replace my 92 elantra i went to the acura dealer to look at a acura legend and saw 1999 black nissan with black leather for 19,000 dollars with 19,775 . It was more than i wanted to spend but it was a good deal and i have had the car ever since with only 2 major peoblems when i had to get it towed to dealer..

Grandparents moved far far away and couldn't take the i30 so they gave it to me. At the time, I was driving an 89 m3 and wanted nothing to do with it. Well a couple months later the grenade that is the m3 motor died a rather horrible death and I was more or less forced to drive the i30. I gradually grew into it and sold the m3 and put that money into the suspension. Still doesn't handle as well as the m3, but the power it puts down is pleasing. I would say that after going nissan, i don't think i'll be going back.
