$850 - $900 for Tein Basic Dampers

Found sets online for b/t $850.00 and $900.00

Is there any hope for finding these cheaper assuming I buy brand new?

Been through the Maxima.org classifieds and am investigating the availability of a couple of sets but nothing firm so far.

For that price i would get the D2's. That way you have the camber plates and you dont have to buy anything else for the install.

850 is about the lowest new u wiwll find them... that is considered a good price... avoid ksport i have heard nothing but crap from them... leaks and squeaks and they blow in less then 3-6 months is all i ihear about....

go Tein is you can. the only neg i heard is they are a rough ride and not to adjustable.

i wouldn't neccessarily say that. i have ksports coilovers surprisingly but i bought them a while ago with the updated valves. i had mine for just about a year with only a worn lower strut collar issue. some have blown and whatnot but that depends on the road conditions, driving patterns, and how low they dropped it. i haven't blown one strut and that was driving around downtown columbia, sc. roads where the roads are abs hell. i'll say noise issue is pretty high though. it does take a lot of maintenance to keep up with these. in fact, thats how it is for coilovers.

and i disagree w/ you on the teins with the ride. i think tein's ride quality is more forgiving, softer than ksports. ksports spring rates are too high for daily driving imo.

ksports:
pros: affordable, decent coilovers for daily driving on smooth roads, damper adjstable, adjustable camber and height

cons: high maintenance, noise issues are common but fixable, harsh spring rates, many reports on blown struts, damper adjusters don't work accordingly (imo, i think the adjusters peak in the middle of the adjustment range)

Don't do anything with pillow-ball front plates.

Teins went up by 35% since last year. I would call any place you are about to buy from from before ordering. I went through a week with jazzproparts.com at $850 only to have them tell me that the prices were not updated on their site and the best they could do was $1000. Then I had to wait for my paypal e-check to clear and then refund. I landed up ordering the ksports from the group deal, but according to ksportusa they are out of stock in the warehouse and they are building mine right now. Hopefully, they will be at my door after the 17th of June. But to save yourself some trouble just make sure to verify online pricing before you order the Teins.
