painted badges

i want to paint my badges. rear MAXIMA = white with a black outline, and the nissan burgers (front & rear) = white with a black outline, black NISSAN.

my reason: i have absolutely nothing else chrome on my car, and i think it's kind of an eyesore.

my question: should i follow the instructions on de-badging the car? is there any good way to keep the adhesive intact? (i've already ruled out painting them on my car, it would be way too hard to paint them while they're on my car, too hard to mask them even)

or am i just being ridiculous and ****. has anyone else done anything similar?

just take off the emblems and buy new ones with the adhesive on them all ready and paint those

if that is the route u want to follow, follow the instructions or buy the new emblems and paint them and see how they look first before u debadge

why buy new emblems, take them off the car, scrape all the old glue/tape off. Then buy some 3M automotive double sided tape and retape them.

i already removed and reinstalled the front grille emblem.

the 3M tape works really well.

new emblems are $20.00 each.

a roll of 3M tape is like $3.50.
