I bought an aftermarket alarm to install in my Max since it does not have keyless entry or a factory alarm (crime guard 533i).

I intend to do the install myself and after looking through the manual most of it looks pretty easy, but I did have a couple of questions (the other one is in a separate post). I did find a couple of charts that listed wire colors and locations but none of them answered this question.

What type of door locks does the Maxima have? Acording to the instructions that come with the alarm, most cars have either 3 wire positive, three wire negative, or 5 wire reversal. If someone coud tell me the location and color of the wires I have to splice into that would be very helpfull. Also, I have heard the Maxima has a double pulse unlock system, is there anything special I have to do for that? I did by the door interace socket that eliminates the need for extra relays (at least that's what crutchfield said). I am sure I could figure this out myself, but it would be much easier if someone could just tell me.

Your post in the other thread (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....threadid=76343) has the wire colors for lock/unlock, but does not say what type of system it is. It looks like the two three wire systems hook up the same way, but the five wire system is a little more complicated. Does anyone know?
