Intake & Y Pipe Combo

I know that my first two mods will be an intake and Y Pipe. I was wondering if anyone experienced any engine troubles because of either or a combination of the two? Do any of these mods shorten engine life?

If you get CAI, make sure ALL tubes and sensors are hooked up before you turn on the engine. They wont shorten your cars life, in fact it will be more efficient (as long as you dont care about pollution)

Cool. But I was thinking more like Stillen Intake and not CAI. I'm sure that would be the same results, right?

The CAI and Stillen/JWT intake theory has been debated a lot. A lot of people say that the stillen/jwt will yield better performance on the top end as opposed to the CAI. Its a matter of preference, the stillen intake will be an easy install as opposed to the cutting involved with the CAI. I personally think the CAI sounds and looks better. But thats just my .02 cents.
