Tranny problem!

So i got up for work today and went to my car, got in and put in the clutch. Clutch had almost no pressure to it at all so i checked my reservoir and it was full. Went back in the car put the clutch to the floor and started it. Tried to put it in gear and it wasnt happening. Couldnt get it in any gear whatsoever. Yesterday everything was fine, ran like a champ! Nothing under the car, fluids on the ground, etc.

I let the car float back a little and just slammed it into reverse. Reversed it a little and slammed it into 1st. Drove around the lot and it would shift into any gear altho a bit roughly. But whenever i stopped there was no way i could get it in gear.

...sigh i dunno and i dont have the money to fix it for at least 2 weeks. Suggestions?

a failed clutch master cylinder doesn't have to leak. I suppose you could have air in the line...but not likely. More likely you need a new hydraulic part. Used parts are cheap.

BTW, if you're strapped for cash--it's not a good idea to jam your car into gear...unless you're looking to start parting the car out to get some cash.

Thats odd that the cylinder would just decide to die in the middle of the night. Was working like normal when i parked it last night. Thats why fluids popped into my head because "leak" was the first thing i thought of. Makes sense tho that it would be a hydraulic part.

lol ya i always treat my car like my baby so maybe "slammed" into gear is a bit harsh, i "coaxed" it into gear ^.~

Yeah, it probably didn't die in the middle of the night. It prolly died when you pushed in the clutch pedal. It was just sitting there waiting all night to screw with you.

You could always try banging on the MC with a hammer. If that doesn't work at least you'll feel better. Of course, it could always be something more serious like your pressure plate...but that only happens on GM products!
