ECU question

Hi, long time no post - such is the reliability of the maxima!

Anyway, amazing as it may seem, I have a bad ECU. It's been trowing up codes P0400 and P0443 for about a year now and all my testing shows the EGR and purge components to be good. I replaced all the vacuum hoses to no avail. I finally broke down and took it to the dealer. $275 later I had the diagnosis - bad ECU.

I removed the ECU and sure enough there was bad corrosion down one side of the PCB where a water leak had gotten in a few years ago. Aside: this was due to a blocked drain vent on the AC/heater/Air system. If you get under your car and look in the middle of the fire wall, you'll see a rubber drain tube. Stick a bit of wire up and unclog all the gunk. When you pour a pint or water on the windshield it should drain through here.

Anyway, several attempts to patch the corroded PCB traces have failed and now I want to get a new one. $800 from Nissan is extortion for maybe $50 worth of chips (I'm an EE) and a search on the net found www.ninfinity.com who have used ECU's for about $175.

So here's my question:
My ECU has P/N: A18-E65-EZ7, ninfinity has P/N A18-E65-EZ2. What do y'all think the chances it will work in my max????

I've used dissimilar ECU P/N 's in my 95, shouldn't be a problem as long as the Fed / Cali and tranny type are matched.

Hell, trans type shouldn't matter either (short of CELs) as the OP appears to be 5MT.
