350z Seats in 4th Gen- With pictures

Excuse the photo quality, its a sidekick phone camera (dont hate!)

JUST A SCRAPE, DIDNT EVEN FEEL IT, BUT THE SUCKER TOOK 5 MINUTES TO STOP BLEEDING-
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d4...f/IMG00197.jpg

IMPRESSION-

F'ING WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERD!!!!!! They hold me in places I didnt even know I had j/k lol. Bolsters are much better How supportive they are cannot even be compared to the stockers. I like the fact they are cloth- being down here in Miami with no AC, that leather was killing me. And best of all, picked em up locally from a friend for $300, w00h00!

SWAP PROCESS-
Sorry guys, but I did my research, the info is here on the org. Very simple. Just swap the z33 seat cushion and seat back using the A32 basket with the Z33 cushion, bolt it and the seatback onto the A32 frame. Im not going to spoon-feed an actual how-to. If you have common sense, and know what I said at the start of this paragraph, you can do it no problem.

I did the pass seat first. Being that I had never done this before, it took me a while because I wasted time removing things I didnt need. In all, pass seat took me about 5 hrs to do. That was last nite. This morning I knew what to do, so the driver side only took me a little over 2 hrs to do. That's INCLUDING time to shampoo the seats.

They look great, and I'm sure they're ridiculously comfortable. Good job on the install!

Nice work. I will eventually swap G or Z seats into my 4th gen when mine wear out or I get sick of no support from them.

thank you guys for the comments!

I went to work and back yesterday- 45min drive each way. I must say those seats are super comfortable.

No weird noises, from them. They have the full range of adjustability as the stock seats.

I honestly think this is one of those "MUST DO" mods to the Maxima, up there with y-pipe and suspension.

I'm inclined to agree. On long trips especially the stock seats are terrible.

Cloth sucks, especially on the 350z seats. The side bolsters always get excessive wear from climbing in and out. I ditched the cloth covers on my 350z seats for leather. Looks soooo much better.

PM me with a reasonable offer and sure. I have no use for them but everything is in mint condition. If you'd want pictures I can get them tomorrow morning

I must say, on the driver seat, the bolster next to the door, does indeed has some slightly noticeable wear on it. But really the seats are in such like brand-new condition that (at this point) it wouldnt be worth it to re-wrap them. For now Im just getting my money's worth

Yeah, thats how I was at first. But the wear became greater and greater in no time and was a huge eyesore for me. It also drove me nuts having the rear seats in leather, and cloth up front. Now that my 350Z seats are in black leather and so are my rears it just looks so much better and I get alot more compliments on the setup.

looks good man, You pretty much got to do the same process for G35 seats into a maxima as well.. but I got 2 questions

1.How is the seat drop? Is it weird or harder to drive and clutch while being that low? Because the seats are designed for a sporster coupe so does it make anything more difficult? I already like the maximas seats as low as they are, because they are pretty low for a sedan out of the most cars I been in that are sedans. Or is the height somewhat unchanged because you are using the A32 brackets?

2.Armrest... Can you still use your armrest comfortably? I love my armrest and I don't want the hip-huggers to take that away from me, eventhough I love hip-huggers on seats

#1- It didnt change much for me. On the pass side, given that the bottom part isnt height adjustable, I stacked 5mm worth of washers bet'n the seat basket and the front basket mounting bolts. This gave it the angle that I personally liked the most. Ont he driver side I didnt put any washers (because I forgot to put them on actually, lol) but it turns out that it sits just fine. The A32's bottom adjustability still puts it in a usable range with no problem.

I have no problem at all with the clutch or the armrest or the shifter. Everything is perfectly fine.

#2-No problem with armrest

Seats' recliners have been readjusted and NOW the install is done (couldnt get around to doing it right due to work n school, but its done). Notice they sit further back now. This provides a longer support for ur legs as now the bottom is longer.

Only thing though. I do sit lower on the seat, lol. But its not THAT low, just enough to notice you're lower down. I actually love it just as it is now. So werd!

you guys gotta do this!

Flava check your PMs :-D

lol

No side airbags on these seats as far as Im aware. I took them apart pretty good and there's nothing but frame and foam on the recliner, lol. And if you were referring to MY car (because i hear that SOME 4th gens out there did come with side airbags), mine didnt have any.

NICE, but seriously, I'm so upset. 1: because nobody else here pointed it out yet (shakes head) 2: because it exists.........

The everything black but on tan carpet has to go asap. Unless it's grey and it's just the pic abd they're faded, but it def. looks tan to me????

LOL! I was waiting for it dont worry.

The car was originally beige cloth. Then I got a hold of a totaled 96 Maxima that had black leather interior... and I took everything... I mean everything except the headliner (that car has a sunroof, mine doesnt) and the carpet (changing carpet is a mission and a half. If I was to do all that work, it would have to be on a brand new spotless carpet, not a purple stock carpet that had more stains than my beige).
