Lower control arms 2 or 1?

I recently replaced my lower control arm. The dealer says I have to replace the driver side lower control arm but I have to do both. Is it mandatory that I replace two control arms or is it OK to just replace the one knowing that it's about a year less than the passenger side. Or is this a dealer tactic to have me spend close to $900 for the work and parts? Any advice would be appreciated.

I think it would be "ideal" to chang both ,you know to keep things equal so to say, but mandatory....not to me,especially if I have to pay some one to do it.you might want to shop around a little.
If I am reading your post right it looks like you have already done one...if so did you have any problems arise from it??

Already installed one on the passenger side. Is there a mandatory spec that the two arms should be changed at the same time? Or is it so the busings can wear at the same time?

well like i said, its not a bad Idea to change both becuase you can kind of figure that if one is worn, the other isnt to far behind. Its not mandatory but no means(or specs that I am aware of)

buy 2 just to save the shipping.
There are many aftermarket companies that make the arms, some are good quality, some are crap.

Its not mandatory you do get some nice deals when you buy pairs instead of just getting one piece. But with suspension pieces for me i would always say to go the best route always change everything out at the same time just to be on the safe side. IMO.
But than again if your on a budget your on a budget! , do what you have to do. NO one will knock you for it you know! everyone has to cut corners sometimes in there lives!
