Not much lower after H&R install. pics

Well I finally got around to install my H&R and AGX set up I purchased 6 months ago.
I took a picture before the install and one after. and there is notmuch difference in the height of the car. about an inch maybe. I thought H&R was 1.7" in front.

Here is a Before pic. ( used a pb blaster can, too high for soda can lol.

Here is after. there is less fender gap, but not much lower in overall car height to and ground.

As far as ride quality is great. I have the shocks on #2. #1 being softest. Cornering is lot more fun.

Thanks! I get em here on org. The springs are used ones, so they are settled in. The shock are new. Do the shocks also settle?

Yea after about a month, you will notice it's a little bit lower...springs need to settle into the struts.

Another question, Do I need an alignment? I have been driving for 2 weeks since install, everything seems to be fine.

H&R's drop 1.4 in front, 1.3 in rear.

Most people recommend an alignment. Personally I didn't get one after installing my H&Rs on Illuminas last month. My alignment is actually better since...my steering wheel is aligned better, car doesn't pull to either side, and the car doesn't shake or vibrate. But if you have any issues, definitely get an alignment.

I would have thought before you purchased, that you would have researched
and found out what ride quality and drop amount you wanted first

Unless you want to go through tires, I would go get an alignment fast!!!

H & R is the smallest drop of springs but have the most comfort.
More of a drop, the comfort goes down but handling/drop gets better.

With your setup, an alignment is not necessary IMO.

Struts do not dictate ride height at all, struts are for dampening only. The spring is what dictates ride height and is what stiffens your suspension.

You don't wanna go much lower that on springs so in that regard it was a good decision. The only 2 better options for handling would probably be progress and eibach. Every other spring is junk.

When you disconnect the front strut from the steering knuckle your alignment goes to hell. You should definately get your alignment done or atleast check. Sears will check it for free, if it doesn't need an alignment they won't charge. Shaking and vibration usually comes from unevenly worn tires, near balled, and unbalanced wheels. Nevertheless, atleast get your alignment checked, especially now that you put new wheels on that obviously look larger.

Have you tried every other spring to state your opinion? I have KSport lowering springs on KYB GR-2. The KSport drop is 2.2 in the front and 2.0 in the rear. My ride never scrapes or bottoms out. The ride feels comfortable and smooth on bumps and pot holes. The handling is better as well. Not trying to condemn you or anything, just tired of people giving unexperienced statements to people looking for facts and info.

+1 on the wait for them to settle comment. I've seen a lot of posts were people say that the ride looks better after it's had time to settle. But with H&R the drop isn't that drastic anyways.

Not enough suspension travel, period. This topic has been beaten to death over the 8 years or so this board has been alive so I don't care to go tit for tat with you over this.

BTW, I had sprint springs on my old maxima so I speak from experience. Junk. I've been around the community long enough to know what works and what doesn't. H&R, Progress, Eibach, or nothing. Everything else is just for show.

H-Tech = teh s3x.

This is from experience, having had H-Techs, H&R, and Intrax, and driving (significantly) Eibachs and Progress.

In order of yummy goodness (IMO):
H-Tech (best all-around)
Eibach (better handling, less comfort)
Progress (same)
H&R (best comfort, sacrifices a bit in handling versus the above)

The rest are crap on the A32.

You changed the geometry of your suspension, an alignment is a must.

I think the overall height is not much different because, I have changed my wheels. The old wheel were 215/55/16. Now I have 225/50/17.
maybe I'll switch to 225/45/17.
