ignition coils

I need a little help. It seems like I have a vibration of some sort at stop lights, almost like I am misfiring. I have a 99, and I know it is a problem with them, but I had them tested and they all came out fine. I know it could also be the injectors, but I would have no idea how to take a look and inspect them. So is it safe to assume that the coils could still be causing the problems? I do not have any check engine lights, already used fuel cleaner, tune up(ngk plugs) etc. WOULD you guys trust this auction on ebay for these coils? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-99...spagenameZWDVW

Any other suggestions?

I know others will say different, but when I tested my coilpacks with a quality multimeter on my '99 Max, they all checked out good. I swapped coilpacks with my friend and my car's hesitation issues (when I first was boosted years ago) went away. I ordered 6 new coilpacks and have been fine ever since.

Take it FWIW.

I bought the same one's 3 week back - 2 of them are already bad

I replaced all 6 - didn't want to find out which one was bad.

It worked fine for a week, and started having problems. Bit the bullet and bought a MOhm multimeter - 2 of the rear one's (closest to firewall) had gone bad.

The one's in the front bank (the one for which cover needed to be removed) seemed to work (so far, touch wood).

I had not thrown out my old coils, and using the multimeter, I was able to determine only one of the front bank one was bad. So now, I am running with 3 old rear bank coils, and 3 new front bank coils from the ebay seller airflowtech.

I also noticed that the shipment came from NJ Reclaimation (sic), which deals with salvage parts, but the seller is representing these as new.

Unfortunately, Ebay does not let you change review once submitted.

I contacted the seller on E-bay multiple times, but he has not responded.

Buy from this seller at your own risk. If all of them work, you get a great deal, but be prepared to have some of them to fail right out of box.

Not to mention that the coil packs arent universal, there are two types of coils, Hashin and Mitsubishi.

I would not buy those from ebay, for one his feedback isnt that great, and for two, thats just way to cheap

Save yourself some grief and do not buy ebay coil packs unless you are sure they are new. I suspect that some people may sell their OE coil packs on ebay to offset the cost of new ones. Some may actually put them in the boxes the new ones came in.

I agree with "The Wizard" I replaced all mine 55,000 miles ago and all has been well since.

Before you spring for coilpacks, I had a similar problem on my 96. I just replaced the Autolite plugs with NGKs and it went away. I think I only had about 20K on the Autolites, so it may just be that NGKs do in fact work better in Maxes.

I already have new ngk's so I think I am ok. Do coilpacks help out with gas mileage as well?
