Awesome! Now some poor parent driving their inocent children around is going to have less likely of a chance to see you stop! A great way to increase your chances of taking fault in an accident, and a good excuse for a cop to give you crap. I'm sorry, I hate this "mod". Thats what I think. Nothing personal.

^^^ i'm sure its VHT night shade.

to the OP, did you spray that on the outside? i tinted mine a long time ago just like yours but not using VHT. after a month or so, it started to fade out really bad so i just went back to normal.

I have done this many years ago.(on a honda).and actually the light output is plenty fine, still very easy to see that the brakes are on. The real problem is it doesnt take long for the sun and elements to make that paint start to peel and really look like crap. you have to prep it really well...and make sure you put plenty of coats of sealer over it to help preserve it.

good luck..and peace.

i got the VTH spray 600 grain sandpaper to sand it down then wiped off sprayed first coat, let dry sanded down again with 1500 grain paper. sprayed another coat. keep doing that one more time then switched up to the clear coat high gloss outdoor spray to protect the tint spray then let it dry.

i thought about it fading but then i should be able to just sand it down and put another coat of clear on when it dries. got 260,000 miles on it so just getting me thru school then on to the 09. figure by the time i can afford one the prices will go down. or pick up a used 09

saw yours after i did it. yours looks good to reassured me about mines. but when i got my tint redone i asked bout them tinting it and they told me what to do. i wanted to keep the clear cause the front has the clears so wanted it to match up a lil bit. also i do i have little difference mines are stock tails switched to red n clears then switched to tinted and clear. on yours you brought the tail lights and tinted the top mines have everything that red on stock tinted including the little red reflector on the side by the turn signals and rear fender

got this sports camcoder that plays mp3 and has camera and voice recorder from samsung pictures ain't all that great but everything else comes in handy

Uh yeah mine are tinted hence why I said looks familiar.I've been a member since 2001 and as far as I can recall I was the first to do black/clears. That's what I'm talking about.

Doesnt really matter, if I wanted to really be the only one with my setup i would never post pics of my car.
Here is another guy pretty going the same theme as me,.
http://forums.maxima.org/6514217-post1.html
Back when I first posted pics of my car with the two tone theme many people bagged on it saying it looked unfinished and looked primered and etc.
Now, theres quite of few people doing the two tone theme let alone the white and black theme.

All of the red portions on my are tinted as well, I just have the original red/clears so they dont have that red reflector in the housings. Overall finished look is the same though, black/clears.
You should really buff yours up, that will give them a glossier look. Wetsand and buff!

Well, I had them that way for about a year, and they started fading so I stripped them and did it all over.
They once again began fading. So the third time, I sent them out to Jons Tinted Tails and had them professionally tinted. He uses PPG paint to tint them. Should last forever now.

You obviously dont know what the heck your talking about, too quick to bash before researching tinted lights, which is just what they are, TINTED.
Light shines through them just fine, even during the day.

FYI, even before I had the LEDs, the regular halogen bulbs were plenty visible.

You trying to say that tinting tails has no affect on visibility? Please. I reacall countless times douche bags, whether it be in a trans am, taurus, or civic, having tinted tails and me getting pissed because it was difficult to distinguish between regular parking lights and brake lights. It is a ricey mod IMO, and can increase the chances of an accident. It is especially bad during the day time... Why do you think it's illegal in some states? Because it makes no difference in visibility? Hmm.
And yeah... Your tinted/led tails are dim compared to stock untinted tails. They sure do look great though.

I think if you use night shade one coat so its slightly tinted like the infinity suv or the 2008 Tls tails I doubt its illegal.

Not too sure what the vehicles you saw had theirs tinted with, but with the Night Shades and the PPG paint I have on mine there perfectly visible. Ive passed State Inspection everytime.
If you think the superflux LEDs are dull compared to stock untinted tails you should see them in person. If anything I have to dim them a bit because there are so bright.

Just curious, what do you use to do that? I don't want to darken mine, but I want to hit them with just a light light light dusting of it to make for a slightly smokey color.

An auto body shop could do that. Heck anyone with a pain gun can. Just a few drops of black in the clear will smoke them out. My buddy has done umpteen dozen tails and they come out great with a bit of color in the clear.

i found out where i can get the clear spoiler light i think i'm going to get that to complete the look. everytime i look at the car i'm still seeing that red light so i got to get rid of it. also for everyone concerned about safety i also added my 3rd brake light back in the window so if people can't see that and the other three lights they just weren't paying attention

i got the precut tints from ebay for tail lights. they arent like window tints they can be taken off and put back on when ever honestly i think ppl should look onto that because tinted tail lights dont look as good. plus the tints were like 20 bucks with shipping and took me less then 2 minutes to put on
