Crankcase Breather Hose Has Brush-Like Filter Inside???
Recently when I was cleaning the TB and IACV I took out the breather hose from the crank case. I noticed there was a wire inside so I thought it wasn't supposed to be there and proceeded to take it out using the stubby end of an antenna.
Well it turned out to be a thin metal wire with wire brush on the end. It was held in place by the fact that the hose itself was a bent shape. Is this thing there to prevent/filter deposits being spit back out from the crankcase back to the intake path? Did anyone else notice this brush-like filter in their hose?

My wife's '88 Nissan PU has one, and it is supposed to be there. Don't know about my '97 SE, I'll check in the morning.
