weird hesitation

hey guys.

i just did any 00vi swap and nitrous install. everything is working great. tried the 35 shot out and it pulls nicely. well i went to the track last saturday night and went to a 50 shot. pulls great! however...the next day or so i started noticing a weird hesitation. its like if i'm cruising in 2nd gear say 2000 rpm and push the throttle half way down the car will accelerate normally(hard)..then fall on its face....then kind of spool back up like a turbo back to normal acceleration. it just does this between about 2000-3000....other than that it pulls hard to redline.... i have one step colder plugs gapped to .035.

now, it never did this after the 35 shot....could the nitrous have caused it? i was reading other posts about "hesitation" and some said MAF or plugs. i haven't had time to check the plugs yet but i wanted to get yalls input. thanks!

fuel filter is brand new 300zx filter. .....i'm wondering if its MAF issue....i just don't know what would cause it only at a certain rpm....

I'm dealing with something similar - - some helpful insight has been provided in my thread:

Check your plugs. The nitrous is a good de-gunker, and could easily cause carbon blow by and foul up your plugs. Did you thouroughly clean the TB/IM before you installed it? You could try cleaning your MAF but unless you have a fault code I doubt it will help.

haha! yeah i know nitrous is a good de-gunker! after i sprayed the 35 shot for the first time my check engine light went off. its been on since i've had the car...about a year and a half....and after the 35 shot it went off for a few days! haha. don't know how that worked....

thanks guys for the info! i will check the plugs tonight. and update then! thanks for the link. i'll keep reading and see if i can find something else....but for some reason i think its the plugs....

The I would'nt suspect the plugs (as much), but it's worth a shot. Cooler plugs will have a harder time self cleaning (getting hot and burning off carbon, etc), especially if you do a lot of short trips.

no plugs hu?

well most of the trips i make are short trips. a mile or two here and there throughout the day. i just don't really know what else it might be....its weird that its only at one window of rpm range....
