Im back and im black :P

So some of you might not know but my 97 was rear ended about a month ago. The insurance company deemed it was total. So my options were to either fix it or get a new one. So tada I picked up a new one!

There is a little rear end damage and rust but its nothing a 1997 parts car cant do

yes tint is much needed my eyes get really sore my old one had 30% which was good for me and i think legally thats the lowest you can go.

when i first bought my maxima(pebble beigh) i was looking at a 96 prior to that and someone bought it before i could i was so bummed out. i wanted a black max for as long as ive had one. and finally i have one!!!!

my parts car has a little damage to the rear so i will have to work on that. but my brother in law owns a body shop and i know he will let me do all my work and help me out with all the rust spots and the 96 to 97 converson

cant u just dremel a hole in the side of the intake for the spray? i really hadnt thought of it cuz both my lil pocket rockets (hondas) had CAIs

well you think of the way the stock intake is
tb-->accordian peice--->resenator thingy----->maf------>airbox

the only places where i can think i could drill a hole is the accordian secton but i dont know if i could mount it nor would it be stable. or the resenator spot but im not sure i could get a good stream going into the tb. idk i might have to get creative.

lol i didnt even think about it but the stock parts of a 4th gens air box will have fitment issues on a 00vi correct?? lol short ram it is i guess. or like i said earlier i think i have enough parts to fab something up.

Yeah that is the only downside to black is that everything shows.but i think i will be fixing some of the rust problems during the winter. since i dont think i will be driving it during the winters(91 geo prizm 38mpg FTW)

yeah, stock 4th gen intake parts, fitment will be problematic with the VI. if you really want something stock, you can do what I did to mod the 5th gen parts

http://forums.maxima.org/all-motor/5...e-ideas-2.html

congrats on the 96

Congrats! Back in 1997 when I was a struggling grad student, I was looking at cars like yours 1-2 y.o. used. They wanted $19,995 back then with about 15-25k on the odometer! Those vaned rims bring back memories...

ah **** man i totally forgot that i said id buy them from you. i really do want them but i had some unexpected bills pop up on me. i suppose you would want cash for them and no trades huh? or we could wait it out so i can sell some of the parts off my 97 and i could pay for it that way. I hopefully already have the seatbelts and the passenger side air bag sold that would be almost 150 in it self and i could probley come up with the rest.

OK. let me know. you got my number.
I also got a KH8 trunk lid and spoiler from a 98 max for sale. I see you want to do the 97-99 conversion. so, we can talk about it.

<---- to black maxima's and color codes lol

nah my other max was a 5speed. the only way i would buy a auto is if i was buying one for the old lady, but then again she is taking a liking into this maxima.

The swap will be cake(hopefully) I didnt have hardly any problems the first time around. and i have taken it apart like 3-4 times since ive had it on so im kinda fimilar with them now lol. The EU will be the pia. It was like hooking up 10 stereos
