Pulling off viynl on rear window

So i have pulled the viynl like in this picture below. But on the rear quarter window my car has the same fading as the viynl that was pulled. Is this viynl also? Im talking about that very small strip! I tried pulling the weather stripping back and seeing if it were just painted metal but i could not tell!

And again not my pic, i got lazy and just used someones.

I think I know what your talking about. Mine is faded too but needs to be there. If you take it off you would need a new one. I've been looking for a carbon fiber overlay kit to put over it.

So your saying it's not the original body color underneath?

I couldn't get mine off but I don't think it would be body colored under it. I think it keeps the quarter window in place.

Yeah that part, as far as I know, is actually black metal. It is not vinyl over body color.

Yeah its just black metal, no vinyl. If you really want it body colour just grab a can of paint. I painted mine since one was starting to rust a bit and added some clear coat, it looks good.
