My rear brake calipers are rubbing on my 96 SE with 73,000 miles. The dealer said it is due to defective caliper clips and that the updated calipers need to be installed at a cost of $800.00. Anyone else ever heard of this? I can't notice any current handling or braking problems, but want to repair the brakes because the noise is getting louder (i can only hear it at low speeds). I hate to spend $800.00 on caliper "clips"! Help please...

This sounds wrong. Please get a second opinion, preferably from a brake specialist.
