Squeeky Door Hinges

I own a '97 Max and have heard squeeks when I open either the right side passenger or right rear doors. The guides in both doors look like they are made out of black plastic guidebar and both guidebars show wear signs. I used some grease on the passenger door but to no avail. Is there something I can use to eliminate squeeks when I use the passanger door? The dirver's door does not experience this problem.

All comments welcome.

Well...

On my car the bolt that limits the doors extension was loose. It made a "clicking" sound (sqeaked at times). I tighened it and now its gone.

Thanks, Cyrus. I'll keep this in mind if I experience this problem. Right now, it is not a "click" but a "Scccccchhhh" sound I hear.

This occured on my 96.. You have to replace the door stops, its not the hinges... Its a plastic device that prevents the door from opening too much.. I replaced the rear ones in about 20 to 30 minutes.I think they cost around $20 each or so. It happens to most max's after a while...

I had this same problem. You said you used grease, but was it the spray kind or the thicker stuff? I bought a can of white grease and just sprayed it on all the moving parts. Problem solved.

Silicone spray works wonders for door squeaks. Spray it on the hinges, move the door back and forth a few times, repeat if need be, and presto! Quiet doors!
