question about coolant level check

Is it best to check the coolant (in the little coolant container thing on the passenger side of the engine) after the engine has cooled down? The mechanic filled mine up like two weeks ago, and it looked low again today but that was when the car was on... I'm guessing thats because the coolant is being circulated, so if I check like tomorrow morning (after the car has sat the whole night off), would that be ideal?

thats just a over flow/backup reservoir for ur radiator... ye check it tomorrow and if its still less then normal just fill it up again to the "ideal" level mark

Not this again......

Check the coolant level in the reservoir tank when the engine is cold. If the coolant level is below MIN, add coolant up to the MAX level. If the reservoir tank is empty, check the coolant level in the radiator when the engine is cold. If there is insufficient coolant in the radiator, fill the radiator with coolant up to the filler opening and also add it to the reservoir tank up to the MAX level. If the engine cooling system frequently requires coolant, you have a problem and it needs to be checked by a mechanic.

Oh, and RTFM FTW. See link.
