cel still on?

My check engline light has been on since i put some crappy stp fuel system cleaner in my gas, and it was throwing a rear heated oxygen sensor code, and knock sensor code. I replaced them both myself, but the check engine light is still on.. is there any way i can reset them so that the computer realizes that the parts are fixed already? thanks for your help!

You can reset it yourself via the screw on the side of the ECU. See this page for details:

Or
Go to Autozone etc and ask them to clear it with their code reader for free
or
Disconnect your battery for half a day or more, then reconnect.

Who said anything about lending out scanners?? Or are you implying that the Autozone employee can't walk out to your car with you and personally clear/read the codes for you?

The autozones that I go to used to let me check out the scanner in exchange for my CC and license. But then some cities prohibited people from "working" on their cars in the parking lot. So for autozone to not get fined, they required the scanner to be paid (so you can bring it home or something) and they will give the refund after. I have not yet bother to try asking the employees to walk to my car because their driveways are too steep and they probably would say no.

not trying to thread jack, but i can post on here yet and i am having cel issues which fall under here.
The codes were pulled from my 1995 Maxima. Again this is from my 1995.
codes:
10-5 = EGRC Solenoid Valve
4-7= Crankshaft Position Sensor (reference)
4-1= Intake Air temp Sensor
1-3 = Engine Coolant Sensor

Help with these code please? I took off my intake system to install a new starter this am and reset the ecu. I have not put back on the intake yet b/c i am going to clean out the engine bay. I am sure once I do the 4-1 code will go away.
But what about the other codes? Any quick checks, fixes, etc?

thank you

here in sacramento, i heard they were doing the same...so i went to check my moms Camry check engine light out, and they said that its illegal to have that device in their store...because ppl checked out wat the code was, and auto zone told them which part they needed to buy and it wasnt always true. so they got sued....plus they were stealing shops buiessnes...i thought about buying the OBDII reader and then return it, but you cant do that as well...

the EGRC is on probably because its clogged up...look behind your intake manifold by the IAVC. its a tube thats metal held on by 2 bolts that runs down....you may need to clean it...

Well, that code actually points to the EGRC solenoid valve. It's located near the mouth of the knock sensor valley. Part of it is green. It can be a pain to remove it, since the bolt is underneath and you have to work blind (clockwise will = tighten, counter clockwise = loosen). It will have some skinny vacuum hoses connected to it which will likely be stuck on there, so you'll have to either twist them with pliers or cut and replace them.

Oh, I also recommend you let the engine cool down. I did this while it was still hot and it was awful!

The Coolant temp sensor is easy to replace:

I haven't had to replace my CPS yet, so I can't offer any tips on that one. But you can definitely find answers & how-to's through the search.

hmm i might have unplugged the coolant temp sensor when i was taking out the intake and moving stuff so i had maximum room to work. I will check that. Lol if it's that well that's a easy fix. I will check the EGRC then and repot back. Thanks

also I have a SS Clutch line I bought way back b/c my max got the leak. Well I went to install it almost a yr ago and it looks different. So I just kept putting fluid in every 4 weeks or so. Kinda getting old. So I'd like to know if the line I have is right. If it is I'm not sure how it goes since again it looks different. I have issues on here posting pics and starting new threads. So can I email the 2 pictures I took of it to some one? Thank you all

ok I check and that sensor is plugged in. I took some pics of the plug that is not plugged in. I do not know where it goes. I looks like it is connected to some wiring that sits just above the starter, right under the intake. any ideals? I got some pix if some one cars to host them since I can not here.
